Congrats! Your baby is turning one! Want to plan a fabulous birthday celebration on a budget? We've got you covered!

You can find literally everything you need for a first birthday party...besides the venue on Etsy. Shopping this way means you can help support a small-business owner; double-win! Etsy offers a huge variety of custom and hand made invitations, gifts, supplies, party favors, linen and so much more!

Why not have the party at your own home, rent a pool or an air bnb if you need more space? You can make cupcakes, order pizza or do it pot-luck style.

At Costco; I was able to find a birthday cake under $20 but why not bake your own cake or cupcakes to save money. I see cupcakes so often in Wal-Mart's bakery that are under ten bucks. I prefer cakes from small-business bakeries but I understand some people need to cut costs some ways and custom cakes can get expensive. For a smash cake; you can totally make it yourself and purchase the cake the guests will enjoy.

I think guests would enjoy budget-friendly food such as pizza or tacos. Do not forget to have napkins, paper plates, plastic utensils, bottled water, ice and perhaps a punch or adult beverage for guests to unwind. You can make mocktails or have teas and soft drinks if you are uncomfortable with any adult beverages at a children's party.

Visit your local dollar stores for items such as table cloths, paper wear, gift bags, snacks and more. I like checking dollar stores before I purchase items at party stores which tend to be more expensive for items I need for parties where I live. Check to see if your dollar stores carry balloons or ice you may need; luckily some near me do which saves me time going into larger stores for these items.

Ask guests to help out with taking photographs and videos; then sending them to you after the party. You will most likely appreciate the memories later on when you look back at them.
