Galentine's Day parties are the perfect excuse to get together with your friends and those you love spending time with. It is a perfect time to make plans with your single friends and enjoy some good laughs hopefully. Planning parties is so much fun for me and I wanted to share some of my tips on planning an unforgettable Galentine's Day Party.

A Galentine's party can be done on a budget by using some cost-effective ideas and by simply planning ahead.

Now let's get to planning!

Unsure of where to host a Galentine's Day themed party? You could make it  sleepover at your place or just have a dinner at a restaurant with a larger table for all the guests to have space. Since restaurants can be busy around holidays; go ahead and make reservations as soon as possible. It is also great to keep the restaurant updated with your guest count as your guests RSVP and decline.

Some guests may not be able to make it and that is okay! This time of year where I live weather can be cold one day then warm the next. Today it is snowing in fact and it would be awful to drive in...as well as dangerous. Many people also feel very lonely around certain holidays so have empathy for those possibly not in the mood to celebrate. I love the idea of Galentine's Day since more people can feel included in the holiday that sometimes gets the stigma of "relationships and couples."

Do you have cute floral or pink themed restaurants in your area? One particular steakhouse in my area has beautiful red and dark romantic lighting. I think it is perfect for a date night or Valentine's Day gathering. Another lounge has a plenty of cute areas with flowers, greenery and photo ops. You may have a great spot local to you that would be perfect for this theme.

Wouldn't it be so fun to do something like a brunch, visit to an art museum then movie afterwards? The ideas I have for this occasion seem plentiful.

Consider those cupcake and candy shops, cocktail lounges, bakeries...many love hosting small gatherings and allowing you to fill up on delicious treats.

Having parties at restaurants can save you money since some do not cost to actually reserve private rooms. Many just ask you show up for your reservation, order and tip the wait staff.

Ask if you are allowed to bring in a small cake (not at bakeries or places that sell what you bring in) or balloons to make your space cuter or easier for guests to find you section upon their arrival at the venue. Community centers, hotels and libraries often have meeting rooms or banquet areas for lower rental rates compared to venues. I think using an Air BnB is a fun way to host an event such as this because if any guest wants to have a cocktail; they can just sleepover.

Using Air BnB's is a good way to host a fun party without having to stress about deep-cleaning your home, sending your children to a sitter for the night versus calling a sitter over or worrying about not enough space or beds for overnight friends.

Speaking of cocktails and air bnb ideas...have your guests download uber and lyft beforehand so they already know some additional ideas to take rides home if they choose to have a couple of adult beverages.

Keep water bottles available and for the over night guest to find the next morning. You may want some breakfast foods like donuts which are easy to grab at many locations versus cooking for a group. Perhaps one guest can be in charge of a breakfast run and/or helping with cleanup afterwards.

I love the idea of swanky hotels with indoor pools, road trips or going out to a night club with my girl friends so even simple ideas such as those would probably be just as fun. You do not have to go all out with a sleepover or weekend trip to make it memorable. Hosting parties can luckily be done cheaper if more guests want to pitch in with decor or making the party pot-luck style.

Some venues are decorated or themed and do not allow or need decorations. I do not find them something that is a must-have for adult parties such as this but it is still fun to decorate and the decor doubles as photo opportunities for guests.

When it comes to entertainment; why not make a play list and have each guest bring their favorite board or card game. Some women may enjoy a nice cocktail but I suggest having some mocktails available as well.

You could also make your Galentine's Day party a certain theme or ask the guests to wear pink, red or a color you like so if you plan on going out it may be easier to find one another in a large crowd. Maybe get matching t-shirts just for fun? They may make for comfortable sleeping shirts after and bring back memories once received.
